December 22, 2025The Skull Panda Series are works of art in print and figure form, and are one of a kind collectibles! Taking good care of the prints, along with the vinyl figures and mini collectibles, helps them look good and keeps them from getting damaged. To help you with preserving your collection, we’ll share a practical guide with you!
- Dusting and Cleaning
Both prints and figures can get dusty fast. Dust can dull colors and scratch the surface of your collectibles. To dust the prints, take a soft and dry microfiber cloth, or a feather duster, and lightly sweep the dust away from the surface of the print. If you are using a liquid cleaner, be very careful with using any chemicals or water, as they may damage the paper or ink. Figures also need dusting, and you can do this gently with a soft brush like a makeup brush. This will help you get to the tiny areas and will avoid scratching the paint, or vinyl finish.
- Control Humidity
Humidity can warp prints, allow for the growth of mold, and can dry out pieces like vinyl figures, which can lead to cracking and other issues. As a general rule, store your collection in a room where the humidity is stable and in the 40-60% range. Using a small dehumidifier or silica gel packets in your display cases can help keep those optimal humidity conditions. Never place prints or figures in bathrooms, kitchens, or near open windows where temperature and moisture are likely to change frequently.
- Block UV
Prints and the paint on figures can fade from damage if they are in direct sunlight. When framing your prints, position them on walls that are not exposed to direct sunlight, and consider using UV-protective glass when framing. Figures in your display collection should be on shelves or in cases that also minimize sunlight. If you want to photograph or enjoy your pieces under bright light, consider using LED bulbs, which do emit UV light, but less than traditional bulbs.
- Safe Storage Practices
When not on displayed, prevent creasing and yellowing by storing prints flat in acid-free sleeves or archival-quality boxes. Figures can be placed in original boxes or padded storage containers. Do not stack heavy items on top of your collectibles, as this can cause deformation. Minimize risk of damage and make retrieval easy by labeling boxes and storing in cool, dry environments.
With these simple but effective tips: gentle dusting, humidity control, UV protection, and proper storage, you can make sure your Skull Panda Series prints and figures are well preserved and kept vibrant. Caring for your collection not only keeps your collection visually appealing, but also keeps valued parts of your collection intact, allowing you to enjoy your prints and figures for years to come.
